The Inner House
Two ways
A two-way journal. You write. You ask. You write what is spoken.
Silence is also a teacher.

From the notes
You write. You ask. You journal what is spoken to your heart. Silence is also a teacher.
Prints the method and seven sittings as two columns. Lined space is left if you prefer the page.
The method
The reflections in the old handbook were never a monologue. You write. You ask. You journal what is spoken to your heart. That is the whole practice.
01
What is stirring? Do not dress it. The first column is yours.
02
Sit. Two minutes is enough. Ask if there is anything the Presence would like to speak to your heart.
03
A word, a picture, a warmth, a silence. Silence is also a teacher. The second column is not a performance.
04
A word will never violate the book. Love. Fruit. Does this build up, lift up, cheer up? If you are unsure, keep it small, or keep it.
Sitting 01
Ask if there is anything the Presence would like to speak to your heart. Journal the response.
Romans 5:5
You write first. Sit. Then write what comes: a word, a picture, a warmth, a silence. Silence is also an answer.
Sitting 02
What does it mean, in your own life, to be set apart for love? Sit with 1 Peter 1:15-16.
1 Peter 1:15-16
You write first. Sit. Then write what comes: a word, a picture, a warmth, a silence. Silence is also an answer.
Sitting 03
Have there been rooms where you wanted to hide from Presence? Meditate on Hebrews 13:5-6, then write what is spoken.
Genesis 3:8 · Hebrews 13:5-6
You write first. Sit. Then write what comes: a word, a picture, a warmth, a silence. Silence is also an answer.
Sitting 04
The old handbook asked: if you are a temple, what does the Spirit speak to your heart?
1 Corinthians 3:16
You write first. Sit. Then write what comes: a word, a picture, a warmth, a silence. Silence is also an answer.
Sitting 05
Ask to be filled until there is an outflow. Write what you notice, including silence.
John 7:37-38
You write first. Sit. Then write what comes: a word, a picture, a warmth, a silence. Silence is also an answer.
Sitting 06
Ask to be shown someone, a detail small and kind. If nothing comes, write the silence.
1 Corinthians 12:7
You write first. Sit. Then write what comes: a word, a picture, a warmth, a silence. Silence is also an answer.
Sitting 07
Ask for a name you can walk. Journal the response, then rewrite it as I am.
1 Corinthians 1:2
You write first. Sit. Then write what comes: a word, a picture, a warmth, a silence. Silence is also an answer.
